This open-label trial is designed to evaluate the safety pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of PRLX 93936 in patients with advanced solid tumors. Mendelson’s and Mello’s “work and creativity” he said “led to advances in our knowledge of the causes of addiction and has led to valuable treatment for addictive disorders. In an e-mail Mello said her husband “was fascinated by the interactions between drugs hormones and behavior. He conducted multidisciplinary research on the addictive disorders and is best known for his clinical research on addiction to alcohol heroin cocaine marijuana and tobacco. “From 1966 to 1970 Dr. Mendelson was chief of the National Center for Prevention and Control of Alcoholism within the National Institute of Mental Health. It was “the first federal program to focus on alcoholism” Mello said. The NIMH is within the National Institutes of Health.
