Although many experimental studies are not on offer here there is a lot of room for research nevertheless. Clinical research at the level of medical students rests mostly on going through patient records generating outcome studies at least for starters. This is very important if someone wants to focus his or her research in a specific clinical field which would in turn directly assist in making a CV sharper and directed. Community research is the third and possibly the broadest side on offer to medical students in Pakistan… Another avenue for research is clinical research. Every country seems to have a strong point and the (note the sarcasm) strong point of our population is a high prevalence of disease and poverty that has been eradicated by the West where most research is generated and journals are based. Community health has come to become a prominent part of medical curricula in Pakistan simply because tertiary care hospitals have become distant from the reaches of the masses.
