As a result the latter have been turning increasingly to outsourcing as a way of cutting back on expenditure – and even reducing the R&D timeline. Earlier this year analysts at investment firm William Blair suggested that demand for outsourced drug development is spurring CR growth and the trend is likely to continue for several years. At the same time research from the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development predicts that no company in the future will develop new drugs entirely on its own and that demand for CR services will grow by almost 16 per cent annually over the next three years (see chart). In monetary terms the CR market has grown from $1bn worldwide in 1992 to $6bn today.

He is referring to QUARTZ (Quality of Life After Radiotherapy and Steroids) a study of people with cancer that has spread from the lung to the brain. Normally such patients are offered supportive care and radiotherapy.

I am amazed and shocked at the amount of money and time that has been wasted with all these superficial non truthful studies. As Wendy said in a previous comment why have they not listened at all to a parent who is telling the truth about their child’s devestating reaction to the MMR jab. Most of these are peer-review published papers and they involve many more researchers than just Dr. There are five further clinical research papers that link the ILNH gut condition with measles virus. And there are five further clinical research papers that link the measles virus strain in the affected children with MMR vaccine.

Under the terms of the agreement Suven will be responsible for discovery activities related to the identification and selection of clinical molecules in the area of CNS in association with Lilly. The company said it will receive research funding including potential discovery and development milestone payments of about 19 to 23 mln usd and potential royalties on net sales of any products that may be successfully commercialised from the collaboration. Shares in the company closed 6.

The ministry declined to meet the several hundred thousand dollar cost of the project. The ministry has since approved no further studies and cites the Food Safety Authority as the relevant body although the FSA has also neither promoted nor funded any scientific follow-up to Swinburn's report. Food Safety Minister Lianne Dalziel told the Sunday Star-Times on Thursday: "NZFSA has no mandate or facility to sponsor clinical research itself which is why no further research was undertaken despite the recommendation in the Swinburn report. I believe that any such recommendation should be assessed by health or science and research officials and a decision made about whether further action is required. "Two weeks ago Dalziel announced a further review of existing scientific studies. This will be done by the European Food Safety Authority after inquiries by New Zealand officials discovered it was also interested in the subject which neatly flicks the burden of responsibility and funding on to the Europeans.
